Who’s behind this?

Hi, I’m Utpal Pande, a longtime resident of Nainital. I’ve lived here for over 40 years, and this town has shaped much of who I am. NainiNow is my way of giving something back.

Professionally, I work in visual communication and design strategy. I studied at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad, and over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with organizations like IIT Delhi, IMT Ghaziabad, Condé Nast, and MICA. Through my design studio, Pandesign, I help institutions and businesses tell their stories clearly and thoughtfully, whether through branding, digital design, or content strategy.

I’ve also taught design at places like NID, MICA, Flame University, and School of Planning & Architecture, and been part of design communities both in India and internationally. But no matter where my work has taken me, Nainital has always been home.

NainiNow is built with the belief that a more informed, engaged, and connected town is a better one. If that speaks to you, I’d love your support.
